Upgrade Your Trip: All Day on the Rogue River

Combine the half-day Nugget trip with 6 extra miles, an inflatable kayak option, an all-you-can-eat deli-style lunch and spend the day exploring and cooling off on the Rogue River. We will put in at Touvelle State Park and head downstream. For the next six miles, escape into a section of river that has a very isolated feel. Lower Table Rock dominates the landscape as we meander through a very lush and green segment of the Rogue that class 2 and lower. Wildlife is in abundance with great opportunities to take photos. We will find a nice shady spot for lunch and relax for a few before continuing down through the site of the old Kelly’s slough and Gold Rey dam which was removed in 2010. From here we will put the kayaks away and finish the day with some of the best whitewater in the entire Rogue River (our Nugget Half-Day). Just downstream from Powerhouse rapid, we will take-out at the Gold Hill Sports Park in Gold Hill.  9:00 am to 4pm

special trip in many ways

Close at hand, located just a short distance from Ashland on the famous Rogue River, starting below Lower Table Rock and concluding at Gold Hill, Oregon. Also easily accessible from I-5, so you can incorporate a trip on your way through Southern Oregon.

A scenic setting starting with mellow riffles and rapids, uniquely progressing from class I introductory rapids to the exciting but safe class IV whitewater. (Walk-around option is available on the two class IV rapids.) Mellow stretches between the rapids allow us to play games, swim and enjoy some river time.
Beautiful scenery, sparsely populated, and a variety of birds and waterfowl add to the many memorable pleasures.

Great for the beginning rafter to the seasoned river veteran. An excellent training ground for active participation paddle rafting. Stern drive paddle rafting, also commonly used, combines paddle rafting with the extra power and control of oars the guide operates. Sorry, no inflatable kayaks on the half-day trip. All rafts have a highly skilled, personable guide at the helm.
